Description for: The Art of Vincent Di Fate
One of the most respected SF illustrators and artists at work, Vincent Di Fate began his professional career as a TV animator with Ralph Bakshi, publishing his first sf illustration - for Analog - in 1969; since then he has published countless further magazine illustrations and book covers. He was one of the NASA artists for the Appollo/Soyuz programme, and received a Hugo in 1979. He also writes on SF art in his long-running 'Sketches' column in Algol and SF Chronicle; and his hugely acclaimed book on SF art, Infinite Worlds (1997), was shortlisted for a Hugo.
